Avoiding disputes quick tip #10 - when employees return many (not all!) will be missing their families and loved ones. Talk to your teams, understand any issues and support them!
Avoiding disputes quick tip #10 - when employees return many (not all!) will be missing their families and loved ones. Talk to your teams, understand any issues and support them!
Avoiding disputes quick tip #9 is about self-checking that you've been fair to your employees. It's been a tough few weeks - some of your quick decisions may just need reviewing.
Avoiding disputes quick tip #8 - if there's any possibility of redundancies start planning now. Involve the right people now - consult early. Give yourself the better chance of reducing issues.
Avoiding disputes Tip #7 - be aware that your actions today could be scrutinised by HMRC any time over the next 5 years. Employees will be more cautious about raising issues at the moment whilst there's uncertainty over jobs. If they're made redundant or have other issues in months and years to come they may be less concerned about putting their heads above the parapet. If you're breaking the rules don't get complacent about a lack of disputes in the short term!
Avoiding disputes quick tip #6 is to constantly engage and listen to your Trade Union / Employee Representatives. This will be so critical as you move forward and we all know that if you actually listen to employees and understand their challenges and (importantly) take on board their ideas then you get a better result!
